WEC Year of Africa
The World Energy Council has designated 2015 as its “Year of Africa”. The year will be kicked off at the 2015 Africa Energy Indaba conference, to take place from 17 to 18 February 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will culminate at the WEC annual Executive Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 26 to 30 October. The Africa Energy Indaba, which has been adopted by the World Energy Council as its Africa regional event since 2011, receives global recognition as a leading event, attended by energy professionals and decision-makers from across the continent and the globe.
2015 World Energy Issues Monitor
The 2015 edition of the World Energy Issues Monitor has been published. The 7th edition of the annual report, entitled “Energy price volatility: the new normal”, is a barometer of the top issues set to shape the energy sector for the year ahead. Thanks to the support of WEC members, this year’s report has gathered the views of more than 1,000 energy leaders, including ministers and chief executives from nearly 80 countries. The report includes assessment of six world regions and deep-dives carried out by 27 member countries: Austria, Canada, Colombia, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
